Joar Welde

Joar Welde is a Partner at Viking Growth and has spent more than 20 years scaling Nordic software companies globally. As part of the Viking team, he has played a key role in building multiple market-leading software businesses through a combination of organic growth and M&A, as well as leading successful exits to tier-one private equity firms.

Joar has extensive board experience and has served as Chairperson for several portfolio companies. He has been actively involved in taking software businesses public and has also chaired listed companies, contributing to their strategic direction and long-term value creation.

At Viking Growth, Joar is responsible for deal sourcing and plays a central role in identifying and evaluating new investment opportunities. He has led numerous complex equity, debt, and fundraising processes, working closely with founders, management teams, and investors.

Joar brings an international perspective, having lived and worked in both the United States and the United Kingdom. He holds an MBA from the University of Warwick and a BBA from BI Norwegian Business School.
