Erik Fjellvær Hagen

Erik is the Managing Partner and Founder of Viking Growth, which he established in 2001. Since inception, the firm has invested in more than 50 software companies across the Nordic region. Erik brings over 30 years of experience in the software industry, combining strategic insight with operational and entrepreneurial expertise to support portfolio companies in scaling internationally.

He plays a central role in shaping Viking Growth’s investment strategy and works closely with founders and management teams to drive long-term value creation. His broad industry background enables him to contribute across both strategic direction and operational execution.

Erik has extensive international experience, having lived and worked in Sweden, Canada, and the United Kingdom. He began his career at McKinsey & Company and went on to hold several senior leadership roles, including VP Marketing (Distribution) at NetCom GSM ASA, CEO of Schibsted Nett and Scandinavia Online, and Partner at Arthur Andersen.

Erik holds an MSc in Computer Science from the Norwegian Institute of Technology and an MBA from INSEAD in France, providing a strong foundation in both technology and business leadership.
